I would point out that saeli-pox hospitais have again and again served to disseminate that disease to neigh- bouring communities and to quote from Hime's Fractical Guide to the Fublic health Acts "it may be accepted that it is not safe, to erect a small-pox hospital (1) on a site within 1/4 mile of a

hospital either general or for infectious diseases, or cf a work- house or similar institution, or of any aggregation of 150 to 200 persons: (2) on a site where it would bave within 1/2 mile & population of 500 Lc 600 whether in one institution or in dwelling

houses.
